11:00 am: Into the Deep: The Law of Voluntary Abandonment, presented by Michelle Bach and Josh Lounsbury
- A review of case law outlining whether a “voluntary abandonment” of employment is a defense to the payment of temporary total in a Workers’ Compensation claim
- An explanation of the legislature’s enactment of a new statute in 2020 that redefined a claimant’s entitlement to temporary total
- Real life examples of how the voluntary abandonment law is applied in various scenarios
